Design for the 2025 Spring, Winter, and Fall Issues.



ROLE Art DirectorOVERVIEW Adventure Cyclist is North America’s only magazine dedicated to bicycle travel, sharing dispatches from the farthest corners of the map and the hidden gems in your own backyard. For more than 40 years, they’ve published inspiring stories, breathtaking imagery, practical technical coverage, and thoughtful commentary that captures the full joy (and challenge) of traveling by bike. Their parent organization, Adventure Cycling Association, is a Bozeman, MT–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that inspires, empowers, and connects people through bicycle travel.

As a cyclist, bike tourer, and community advocate, it was a true treat to collaborate with the team on three magazine issues. Working within their established brand guidelines, I helped bring fresh energy and a more modern visual feel without losing what longtime members love about the publication. I approached the design through the lens of the “future” Adventure Cyclist reader: the riders who found cycling during (and after) the pandemic boom and are now building their lives around it. These issues reflect that shift -- staying relevant, informative, and celebratory—featuring bikepacking stories from around the world, standout bikes and gear, and editorial pieces centered on the power of traveling by bicycle.
